VRTI takes part in Discover Your Family History Day at The National Archives UK, Kew.

Ciarán Wallace and Brian Gurrin represented VRTI at TNA’s ‘Discover your family history day’ in Kew on Sunday 11 October.

The event celebrates family history, presenting inspiring talks, original documents, and expert genealogy advice.

In a busy and enjoyable day attendees heard from a wide range of specialists, discovered resources to use in their own research, and met experts from partner organisations including the Virtual Treasury, helping people piece together their personal family story.

It was fun to help people use the VRTI alongside other free state-funded resources like irishgenealogy.ie,  the National Library of Ireland, National Archives, Ireland, and militaryarchives.ie  to trace their Irish roots.

It’s quite the collection of free research tools when you look at it!
