Ireland and the American Revolution: 250th Anniversary Perspectives

A conference organized by the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland in partnership with the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities Research Institute.

As we approach a series of 250th anniversaries relating to the period of the American Revolution we would like to draw your attention to our forthcoming conference: ‘Ireland and the American Revolution’. Taking place in the Trinity Long Room Hub at Trinity College Dublin on the 9-10 October 2025, the conference will be a forum for historians, scholars, and educators to explore the role of Ireland and its people in this transformative period.

• Fri., 10 October, 10:00-11:15 – Professor Nicholas Canny (Galway) – ‘Interconnections between Ireland and North America in the Era of Revolutions, c1760-c1848.’
